Video- Hailey Owens' mother: I shouldn't have let my guard down
No, I don't agree. You can see she's been crying. This family is going through the worst thing a family can and she's probably a little overwhelmed at people sticking cameras in her face and all the attention. I know someone will take offense at this, but she doesn't come across as terribly bright, either. I tend to laugh when I'm nervous, no matter what the situation. It's a social anxiety symptom and I'd bet that little momma does it, as well. None of us can possibly know how we'd act in this situation. Please don't criticize or be too harsh on this poor momma. She's been through enough.
When I am nervous I talk a lot and laugh. We can't judge her. After watching that video I just knew people would start trash talking. We have no clue how she feels. I don't want to read one damn negative comment about her. Use your energy somewhere else.
Here's what I know: in the immediate aftermath of the tornado, I saw a lot of people with different reactions - but I especially remember a lot of people just walking with a look of shock. I wouldn't describe histrionic crying as the most typical reaction at all. Even myself, my mind knew what was happening but it was like I went numb because the sense of despair was just that great. I went through different feelings at different times, and it took a long time before my brain even started to catch up and process everything that had happened. I'm sure the commenter didn't mean anything bad, but in my experience I feel like you can't presume anything about what's a normal reaction.

The mom doesn't seem to be the least bit upset?
