Two more COVID-19 cases reported in Newton County, last three cases have been community spread

(From the Newton County Health Department)

The Newton County Health Department reports two more cases of COVID-19 for our county-this brings our total to 9.

The latest cases are separate cases and not related to one another.

One resides in the eastern part of the county and the other one is in the Neosho area. Both have are in self-isolation and close contacts have been notified.

Neither one of the cases appear to be travel related or a contact to a positive case.

Therefore, it does appear the last three reported cases are community spread.

It is very important that everyone do their part in practicing social distancing and maintaining 6 feet distance if you have to be in public.

Please keep washing your hands frequently, cover your coughs and your sneezes and clean surfaces frequently.

Wearing a mask when in public, especially in the stores can help. Please stay home when you are sick unless you need to seek medical attention and remember to call ahead and inform any first responder/medical provider that you are sick. Stay safe and healthy!

Surf's up America!

'Let this wash over'

During one task force meeting in the Situation Room last month, Trump turned to Fauci and challenged him.

It was the day the administration was adding Ireland and the United Kingdom to its travel restrictions, and Trump wanted to understand why talk of “herd immunity” — allowing the coronavirus to sweep a nation largely unchecked, with the belief that those who survived would then be immune — was such a bad idea.

“Why don’t we let this wash over the country?” Trump asked, according to two people familiar with his comments, a question other administration officials say he has raised repeatedly in the Oval Office.

Fauci initially seemed confused by the term “wash over” but became alarmed once he understood what Trump was asking.

“Mr. President, many people would die,” Fauci said.

The president said he understood but since then has repeatedly made clear he wants to reopen things soon — although significant roadblocks remain.

Lefties... wtf? Go back and watch clips from your leaders and your media from January through rarly March. All of them saying that there was nothing to worry about. But yet Trump is the only one to blame? He shut down travel with China and caught flak from the left for over reacting. You mentally stunted lefties can not get your feeble heads around natural disaster and have to rationalize it with blame. You are infants.
