AN ORDINANCE authorizing the City of Joplin to enter into an agreement with McClanahan Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of One Million, Two Hundred Eighty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($1,280,000.00) for construction services associated with the Turkey Creek and Shoal Creek Wastewater Treatment Facilities Digester Roof Repairs project on behalf of the City of Joplin and authorizing the City Manager or his designee to execute the same by and on behalf of the City of Joplin; amending the Annual Budget of the City of Joplin for the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 as adopted by Ordinance 2020-156 on October 19, 2020; and, containing an emergency clause.

COUNCIL BILL NO. 2021-513

AN ORDINANCE of the City of Joplin, Missouri, imposing a use tax for general revenue purposes at the rate of three and one eighth percent (31/8%) for storing, using, or consuming within the City any article of tangible personal property pursuant to the authority granted by and subject to the provisions of Sections 144.600 through 144.761 RSMo; providing for the use tax to be repealed, reduced, or raised in the same amount as any city sales tax is repealed, reduced, or raised; and providing for submission of the proposal to the qualified voters of the City for their approval at  the election called and to be held in the City on Tuesday November 2, 2021; and containing an emergency clause.
