(From the Carthage R-9 School District)Carthage R-9 is excited to announce the addition of Junior High Softball for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. The season will take place in the spring, lasting from March through the first weekend of May.
All participants must have a physical on file, proof of insurance, and will not be able to compete on a travel team during the spring season time frame. Announcements will be made regarding an informational meeting which will occur at the Junior High once school has started in August.
“The addition of Junior High Softball is vital for the growth of our program and will allow us the opportunity to stay competitive in the top half of our conference at the High School level. I feel strongly in the need to nurture a Junior High program for it is the roots that will feed Carthage High School Softball,” Carthage R-9 Head Softball Coach Stephanie Ray says.
“The COC currently has 8 of 10 schools set to participate in Junior High Softball for the spring 2022 season; we will be the 9th school.”
