BIlly Long: Biden's SOTU speech should have been titled "what I screwed up lately and how I will fix it"

(From Seventh District Congressman Billy Long)

Tuesday night, President Biden delivered his first State of the Union address to Congress. He attempted to paint a rosy picture of America under his leadership, but the truth is, we are much worse off today than when President Trump was mean tweeting from the Oval Office.

President Biden spoke about many grand plans he had, but failed to mention the issues he wants to fix are only issues today because of his failed leadership.

Thirteen of our troops were senselessly slaughtered in Afghanistan due to him exiting Bagram Air Base prematurely, police offices have become prey for criminals due to the vilification of their profession, gasoline is higher than a cat’s back, inflation is at a 40 year high, fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for 18 - 45 year olds due to a porous border, 2,200,000 illegals invaded our country in a year, supply chain issues, the list goes on and on.

His speech should have been titled 'What I Screwed Up Lately and How I'm Gonna Fix It.' For runaway inflation he said how about we raise wages and lower costs? But, like for all the problems he ticked off in his 61 minute incoherent ramble, he didn't explain how he would do that? Nor did he offer any details as to how he would fix any of the problems that he has brought on himself. It’s time to take a look at the real State of the Union, the one President Biden did not want to talk about.

Since President Biden was sworn in, inflation has skyrocketed. The cost of everything has gone up significantly, while wage increases have failed to keep up. This is a direct result of the Democrats’ radical spending plans.

When you print money 24/7 and shove it into the economy, the cost of living goes up and wages don’t rise fast enough to offset the higher prices. President Biden said Tuesday that he wanted to “cut costs.” It was a common phrase he used in that section of his speech, but there’s only one problem. The president did not mention how his plans would cut costs. He just said nice words and hoped no one would notice that he has no real plan to fight inflation.

And he has not backed off of his spending plans, in fact, he doubled down on them while proposing a socialist prescription drug price control, which would lead to fewer, if any, lifesaving medicines being created. President Biden has not taken inflation seriously, but he said flowery words, and to him, that’s all that matters, that and not mean tweeting about it. Thankfully, the American people know that pretty words are no substitute for a lower cost of living. We need to see tangible action, which we’re not getting from the White House.

He also failed to provide any solutions for ending the humanitarian crisis that his policies created on our Southern Border. The Biden Administration has been sending hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants around the country on covert flights in the dead of night, when no one is watching. If we want to do something about the record amount of overdose deaths seen in 2021, securing our Southern Border would be a good first step.

President Biden’s foreign policy has been no better. Gone are the days of President Trump, who negotiated an historic peace agreement in the Middle East. The Abraham Accords are one example of how President Trump showed that strong American leadership leads to peace on the world stage. With President Biden, we have weakness.

Now, because of this weakness, Russia has invaded the sovereign territory of Ukraine. The president claims that he has united a global coalition against Russia, but mostly European leaders have taken the lead on this response, and the United States has followed what they are doing. President Biden hasn’t even talked about sanctioning Russian oil, or ending American reliance on it. When President Trump was in office, America was energy independent, but not anymore. Again, this is because of policies implemented by the Biden Administration, policies that Democrats are not willing to back down on, even after a war in Europe showed that we should.

Overall, the State of the Union in 2022 is anything but strong. President Biden can claim otherwise as much as he wants, but the reality does not match his fantasy worldview. And Americans agree. According to Pew Research, 78% of Americans are dissatisfied with the direction of the country. President Biden’s approval ratings are slipping lower and lower, and it is entirely because of his failed and broken policies. He offered no course correction on Tuesday, oblivious to the damage he has done to this nation. But he does want you to know that the brave Iranians are standing tall. And fighting against Putin's Troops! Yes he actually said that.

Billy's trying so very hard to say something relevant. Bless his heart.

You almost have to feel sorry for folk like Billy. Almost.

His world turned into a more complicated place the minute Billy's ochre oaf lost the 2020 presidential election.

Actually Billy's world was always complicated, it was just that the ochre oaf kept things simple for folk like Billy and all his voters.

Billy Long needs to explain why he thinks Trump and Putin got along so well.

Haha.

Used "Billy Long" and "thinks" in the same sentence.
