A former Golden City High School teacher waived her preliminary hearing today in Jasper County Circuit Court and was bound over for trial on a felony charge of sexual contact with a student.
The next hearing for Jacey Stahl, 22, who was a full-time substitute teacher, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, in Division II.
Stahl was charged following a joint investigation by the Jasper County and Barton County sheriff's offices. Though the Golden City school is in Barton County, Stahl had allegedly had sex with the boy at his home, which is located in Jasper County, in February 2021, according to the probable cause statement.Stahl resigned from her position in April. She remains free on $1,000 bond.
