(From the Joplin Police Department)Roger Nichols served as a JPD Chaplain for 18 years. He was a true servant of the Lord. He selflessly served our department, and specifically the family of Officer Tim Nielsen after Tim gave his life in service to our community.
Although Roger was not a current Chaplain for us, he still supported our officers, families and current Chaplain corps, offering his help and prayers up to the day he was called home.
Our hearts are with his family as they grieve.
(Note: Mr. Nichols was killed Friday in a traffic accident on 20th Street in Joplin)
