Oronogo man charged with assaulting ex-girlfriend

An Oronogo man faces a felony charge of domestic assault in the second degree following an alteraction with his ex-girlfriend.

According to the probable cause statement, the former girlfriend came to the home of Garrett Grimm Cleaver (DOB 1985) to pick up her car when she says Cleaver confronted her.

As she started to drive away, Garrett came out of the house with a crowbar busting out her back windshield and attempting to drag her out the car by her hair. Victim then drove south on County Road 255 to a house of the east side of the road and pulled into a driveway. 

Victim stated Garrett then chased her and started hitting her back driver side door with the crowbar causing damage. Garret got the door open and started to strangle her with his hands around her neck. Victim stated she could not breathe and thought she was going to die.
