Probable cause: Lamar woman slammed boyfriend's hand in car door after he took her vodka

The Barton County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed two counts of third degree assault charges against a Lamar woman after she allegedly shut a car door on her boyfriend's hand and dragged him around the yard.

A 9 a.m. November 7 arraignment is scheduled in Barton County Circuit Court for Marjorie Mae McCormack (DOB 1988), according to online court records.

The probable cause statement indicates McCormack's boyfriend angered her when he took her vodka bottle on July 31.

The incident left the boyfriend with red marks.

In the second incident, which allegedly occurred August 24, the couple began arguing while they were in bed. After the boyfriend got up, she continued to scream at him, according to the probable cause statement, and told him to get out of the house.

As the boyfriend was collecting his belongings to leave, she said he was trying to take something that did not belong to him, according to the statement.

She kicked him in the face, then as he was leaving, shut the door on him causing "additional physical pain," according to the probable cause statement.

The Lamar Police Department conducted the investigation.
