A Joplin Police Department investigation into a trespassing call Sunday resulted in a felony driving while intoxicated charge for a Joplin man.
Bond has been set at $5,000 cash or surety for Evan Weible (DOB 1991).
When I asked Mr. Weible how much alcohol he consumed prior to driving his vehicle, he stated he had drank several hours prior to driving.
After the officer told Weible he needed to leave the property, but before he could do so he needed to perform a sobriety test.
Additionally, because of his behavior and the strong odor of intoxicants emanating from his breath. Mr. Weible refused to perform field sobriety test, and was placed under arrest.
Inside of Mr. Weibles truck, I located nine, empty 50ML American Honey shots inside his truck in plain view. Additionally, his keys were still in the ignition.
While at the jail, (Weible) was informed that his drivers licensee could be revoked and he used a large amount of profanity before stating he already knew he was a revoked driver.
Online Jasper County Circuit Court records indicate Weible was arrested December 27, 2017 for DWI, pleaded guilty April 9, 2019, was sentenced to six months in jail, given a suspended sentence, fined $500 and placed on unsupervised probation for one year.
