City of Joplin to celebrate completion of 20th Street project

(From the City of Joplin)

Community members are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting event celebrating the completion of a major roadway project in Joplin.

The City of Joplin and Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the ribbon-cutting on Friday, Oct. 23, near the entrance of Twin Hills Country Club, located at 2019 S. Country Club Drive in Joplin.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. and will be located at hole #3. City Manager Nick Edwards, Joplin Mayor Rob O’Brian, and Public Works Director Dan Johnson will provide remarks about the $14 million project and its impact on the City.

Work on this two-mile stretch of 20th Street goes from Schifferdecker Road to Central City Road and includes two new roundabouts, widening the roadway, and adding stormwater systems and sidewalks.

For more information about the event, contact Cassie Faucett at cfaucett@joplinmo.org.

It’s not complete the city has covered up so many water meters in peoples yards and won’t take responsibility for it and dig them out. AND they have so much crap left behind they have not picked up AND peoples yards were left worse after the paving then it was before. Some yards were able to be mowed before but now there’s rocks and debris under the straw and dirt they put down. This was the most stupid waste of tax payers money
