Discovery scheduled to launch today

The United States is expected to return to space at 2:51 p.m. today with the launching of the space shuttle Discovery, the first such launch since the death of the crew of the Columbia.
As I mentioned in the July 2 Turner Report, the Discovery is same space shuttle that carried Carthage Senior High School graduate Janet Kavandi into space on June 2, 1998. I would love to read some recollections from Carthage Press Managing Editor Ron Graber on the subject since Ron went to Cape Canaveral to cover the event seven years ago.
