Fire damages storage building at Sunny Jim Park

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported Structure fire at 715 East 20th Street at 23:40 hrs. last night. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 23:45 hrs. to find heavy smoke and fire involvement coming from a Storage and Restroom building at the Sunny Jim Little league ball park. The fire caused heavy smoke and fire damage to the Structure. The fire was brought under control at 23:56 hrs.
The facility is owned and operated by the Joplin South Little league. The facility was not occupied at the time of the fire.
There were no injuries to fire crews during the incident. 6 Joplin Fire units and 18 Joplin Fire personnel responded.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.

This is horrible! It all just got rebuilt and now it's damaged again!

Hate to see this because I know folks have been working hard to fix up this facility in the wake of the tornado. Rick Nichols.

You have to remember that for all those that rebuild there are those that will tear down. Only hope they get caught and are punished appropriately. Like make them rebuild something.
