Charges filed against convicted child molester for entering Granby, East Newton schools

At a time when Burl Tucker (DOB 1977), Cassville, was already facing felony charges in Lawrence County for being a sex offender violating a condition of lifetime supervision faces identical charges in Newton County Circuit Court after allegedly being on the campuses of Granby Intermediate School and East Newton High School, according to court documents.

Tucker, who pleaded guilty in 2011 to child molestation and statutory sodomy in a case involving a 14-year-old girl, signed an order of lifetime supervision March 9, 2023 after serving a 12-year prison sentence.

The probable cause statement from the Division of Probation and Parole indicates Tucker was on the Granby and East Newton campuses July 29.

On the same day, the probable cause in the Lawrence County case says, Tucker was on the campuses at Central Elementary School and Pierce City High School and Middle School.

Tucker said the visits to the schools was part of his work for an extermination company that was making the rounds at schools that day.

From the Lawrence County probable cause statement:

On 07/29/2024 this officer received a notification that Tucker entered an exclusion zone at Pierce City Middle and High School at 300 North Myrtle Street Pierce City, MO 65723.

Tucker entered the exclusion zone area at 12:10pm. Tucker left the exclusion zone at 12:22pm. Attempts to contact Tucker his cell phone, home phone and work phone were made at 12:24pm however, no answer, unable to leave a voicemail.

An audio message was sent to Tucker’s GPS device to “Call your officer now.”

This officer received notification at 12:25pm that Tucker entered the exclusion zone at Pierce City Middle and High School. Tucker left this officer a voicemail at 12:35pm that he is working with an extermination company, and they are spraying schools today.

Tucker said he can supply this officer with a list of the schools. This officer informed Tucker that he needs written permission from each school superintendent to be on the premises. Tucker left the exclusion zone area at 1:05pm. This officer received notification that Tucker entered an exclusion zone alert at 1:26pm at Central Elementary School at 400 North Gibbs Avenue Pierce City, MO 65723.

An attempt to contact Tucker on his cell phone was made at 1:41pm however, no answer, unable to leave a voicemail. An audio message was sent to Tucker’s GPS device to “Call your officer now.” Tucker did not contact this officer as instructed.

Tucker left the exclusion zone area at 1:49pm. Tucker is in violation of the conditions of lifetime supervision. The only option available is for felony charges to be filed against Tucker.

The visits to the Granby and East Newton schools took place after Tucker was in Pierce City, according to the Newton County probable cause statement.

After his initial appearance last year in Lawrence County Circuit Court, Judge Don Trotter allowed Tucker to remain free on $1 bond.

After Tucker failed to show for a hearing earlier this year, Judge Alan Blankenship issued a warrant for his arrest and set bond at $10,000 cash or surety.

Either the extermination company that hired Burl Tucker knew he was a registered sex offender whem they hired him, or they didn't know he was a registered sex offender when they hired him.

Either way, it appears that the extermination company sent a registered sex offender to two schools, and that is a problem.

It is also on the offender to make sure he gets permission from the superintendent before entering the premises. He knows the conditions of his probation. The fact that he did these things as part of his job without proper permission is disturbing.

It is Burl Tucker's responsibility to make sure he knows and follows the guidelines of his Probation and Parole - Failure to do so and his current actions to Not show up for his hearing clearly shows again what type of person he is.

Section 566.149 RSMo. - Certain offenders can Not be present within Five Hundred Feet of School Property. Burl Tucker, would have had to gotten Special Onetime Permission through his Boss - who would have to had contacted the Superintendents of the Schools and gotten their Permission also, Burl Tucker would have to asked for Permission from his Parole Officer - Which None of those things were done - - All of these Actions - Completely Violates his Probation and Parole!

The Guidelines are Extensive, and they should be - to Protect Society.

Missouri Guidelines - RULES and REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE CONDITIONS OF PROBATION, PAROLE, AND CONDITIONAL RELEASE FOR
SEX OFFENDERS. Complete List - Below.

He can't get permission unless he's a parent or guardian.
