(From Seventh District Congressman Eric Burlison)On Tuesday, the House passed a six-month continuing resolution (CR) to fund the federal government at current spending levels through September 30, 2025.
While I’ve consistently opposed CRs—because Congress should be passing 12 single-subject appropriations bills—I cautiously supported this CR after discussions with the Trump administration.
I’m putting my trust in President Trump’s commitment to cutting waste, fraud, and abuse, something Congress has repeatedly failed to do. President Trump has tools to fight back, and I’m confident his administration will use rescissions and impoundment to block wasteful spending and force Congress to finally rein in its addiction to runaway budgets.
This CR isn’t perfect, but if it gives Trump the ability to hold the line on spending and enforce real discipline, it’s a step in the right direction.

Fall in line waxman, thats what you do best. A near 100% voting record of aligning with all magat legislation. Your post sounds like you want us all to believe you're your own guy willing to vote against trump. Poppycock! I don't think you have the courage or wisdom to do anything other than get in line and be told what to do just like the 77 million chicken little deplorables who voted in a narcissistic dictator wannabe and ironically, can't think for themselves either.
What's that on his nose?
It's orange...is it pumpkin?

So sorry Melvin, apparently you're a member of the 77 million klan so I have to question your choices if you support wholesale destruction of the constitution and economy. If you think this is better than biden bush, clinton,Obama, bush and reagan, then not real sure I want you driving my bus, investing my money, or doing surgery anywhere on this body. Hmm,
Anonymous 1:49, reread what Melvin wrote..
My kids have measles, my wife’s been locked up by ICE, and my business has gone bankrupt because of tariffs. But at least I know that Trump got rid of DEI.
Randy, I've read it 3x looking for a meaning that I might have missed.....can't find it. I stand with the majority who disapprove of the trump/musk wholesale disposal of hard working Americans and unfettered access to sensitive information. Is there a need to address waste, fraud, and abuse? Absolutely! The last people on earth I would trust to fix it would a 34x charged felon who led an insurrection and the richest man on earth who's nazi inspired and has aspirations to rule the world. Is there something that I've missed?
"Trump's commitment to waste, fraud and abuse"
And at least we have the most emotionally disturbed leader on earth supposedly going after waste, fraud, and abuse......just to make your life better 322......ya right.
It looks like Anonymous 5:13 has it covered. Melvin said Trump was committed to waste, fraud and abuse, not to cutting waste, fraud and abuse. In other words, unless he made a mistake in his comment, he agrees with you.
