An amended complaint filed this morning in Jasper County Circuit Court says Carthage businesswoman Wendy Harris "used undue influence over {the 70-year-old woman} via improper or fraudulent use of power of attorney" to take control of the woman's bank accounts and steal from her.
Harris, owner of Harris Renovations, LLC, was charged Wednesday with stealing, financial exploitation of an elderly person and fraudulent use of a credit device.
The probable cause statement alleges Harris stole more than $360,000 from the woman over a three-year period from January 1, 2022 to January 1, 2025, including $90,000 from a Lowe's credit card she opened using the woman's name. The $90,000 was used to complete projects for some of Harris' other clients, the statement said.
The case was originally assigned to Judge Nicole Marie Carlton, who recused Wednesday. The case was reassigned to Judge John Nicholas.

Have her and husband been arrested - YET?
These games are such bullshit. Why don’t these judges all get together before they start? The judge merry-go-round on this crap our judges are actually quite worthless because they are all so connected that they can’t try anything.
Get some people who didn’t grow up around here, it’s getting ridiculous
