The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed statutory sodomy, child molestation and incest charges today against Darren Lee Ferguson (DOB 1973), Stark City for crimes that allegedly took place when he lived in Carthage.
The allegations came as a result of a Newton County Sheriff's Office investigation, according to the probable cause statement.
An arrest warrant was issued for Ferguson who is to be held without bond.
From the probable cause statement:
On February 11, 2025, Carthage Detectives received information from the Newton County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) about a past tense sexual assault that occurred in Carthage. The information was discovered during an investigation they were conducting on Darren Ferguson.
