Child molestation charges filed against Carthage man, ICE notified


A Carthage man has been charged in Jasper County Circuit Court with child molestation following an investigation into an alleged ongoing sexual involvement with an underage girl.

A warrant was issued today for the arrest of Feliciano Hernandez-Gomez, 39, with no bond. Court records indicate ICE has been notified.








The Jasper County Sheriff's Office began its investigation after the teenage girl's guardian reported Hernandez-Gomez was "having an affair with the juvenile victim," according to the probable cause statement.
On March 12,2025, a forensic interview was conducted with the victim at the Children’s Center located in Joplin, Jasper County. 

During the interview the victim disclosed while under seventeen years old the suspect Feliciano Hernandez-Gomez had requested and was later sent nude photographs of the victim. The victim also disclosed that the suspect had sexual contact with her by touching her genitals and breasts with his bare hand. The victim advised this happened several times between August 2024 and November 2024, while at the address on Clinton Street in Carthage, Jasper County. 








The victim advised four of the incidents took place when the victim was under the age of seventeen. 

On March 18, 2025, I Detective Calvin #249 conducted an interview with Feliciano Hernandez-Gomez and during the interview he admitted to being alone with the victim upstairs at the address on Clinton Street in Carthage, Jasper County and having physical contact with the victim to include kissing, hugging and brushing against her breasts. Mr. Hernandez-Gomez was taken into custody at 1912 hours for child molestation 4th degree.
