Probation officer to have say over Cooper's finances after he serves sentence

Details of the two-year probation period disgraced former Rep. Nathan Cooper, R-Cape Girardeau will serve following his 15-month prison sentence are outlined in documents filed Monday in U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Cooper is required to pay a $6,200 fine, which can be paid in one lump sum or in payments of at least $500 per month, according to the court documents.
A special condition of his release requires Cooper to "provide the probation officer and the Financial Litigation Unit (FLU) of the U. S. Attorney's office with the access to any requested financial information."
Cooper will also be prohibited from opening any additional lines of credit without the approval of the probation office.
He will have to undergo nearly all standard probation requirements, according to the documents, including not being allowed to own a firearm, but he will not have to undergo random drug tests "based on the court's determination that the defendant poses a low risk of future substance abuse."

It's not too late to order a copy of The Turner Report book, a present for the Missouri political junkie. The book can be ordered at Amazon.com
