The moment the tornado hit Joplin Fastrip

The story behind this video, seen by more than four million viewers since it was posted on YouTube on May 22, 2011, just hours after the tornado hit, is included in the book, Spirit of Hope: The Year After the Joplin Tornado.

Carthage Press Sports Editor Brennan Stebbins, one of those who were in the Fastrip store when the tornado hits, relives the terrifying event in the chapter of the book entitled "A Lazy Afternoon."

As you can tell from this video and from Brennan's heart-stopping story, it ended up being anything but a lazy afternoon.
