The Joplin Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 2130 S Bird. Time of call was 1714 hours on Saturday evening, 03 August. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 1718 hours to find a single story wood structure with smoke coming from all the eaves. Fire crews opened the front door to search for anyone who might be inside, but found no one. The bedroom appeared to be the origin of the fire. Crews then extinguished the fire and ventilated the house. Crews remained on scene until 1904 hours Saturday evening.
Six Joplin Fire units and 18 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with the JPD, and METS and the ARC. There were no injuries on the scene. Ownership information was unavailable at the time of the report.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
