It seems there is never any in-between for school officials. They either go overboard to prove how tough they are or they don't enforce anything and then brag about the small number of incidents and disciplinary referrals they have.
At North Andover High School in Massachusetts volleyball captain Erin Cox lost that position and was suspended for five games after she answered a call from a friend who was at a party and was in no condition to drive home.
When the police got involved, school officials immediately went into their their "zero tolerance" playbook, even though the police investigation subsequently showed Erin did not drink anything and was merely serving as a designated driver to keep her friend from driving drunk.
As you might expect, this situation is headed to court.

There simply isn't no pleasing some people. Especially Randy Turner, former rogue teacher, fired for cause after substantive due process of process. At least Turner had enough of a grasp of reality to know better than to appeal.
Keep bitchin'. We hear & we laugh.
