THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR * PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MISSOURI...EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI...SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN CENTRAL MISSOURI...CAMDEN...MARIES... MILLER...MORGAN AND PULASKI. IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI... PHELPS. IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...DENT...HOWELL...OREGON... SHANNON AND TEXAS. IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...BARRY...CHRISTIAN... DALLAS...DOUGLAS...GREENE...LACLEDE...LAWRENCE...MCDONALD... NEWTON...OZARK...POLK...STONE...TANEY...WEBSTER AND WRIGHT. * FROM 6 PM CST THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING * WIDESPREAD RAINFALL AMOUNTS RANGING FROM TWO TO FIVE INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL MISSOURI THROUGH TUESDAY. PERIODS OF LIGHT WILL OCCUR AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON...MAINLY EAST OF HIGHWAY 65 WITH MORE DRIZZLE OCCURRING WEST OF HIGHWAY 65. FOR TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY...WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL EXPAND ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION. * FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS ARE EXPECTED. LARGER STEM RIVERS WILL ALSO EXPERIENCE RISES...AND POSSIBLY EVEN FLOOD IN SOME AREAS. MANY LOW WATER CROSSINGS MAY BECOME IMPASSABLE... ALONG WITH LOW LYING ROADWAYS THAT TYPICALLY EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
