Wind advisory issued for Joplin area

.WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 7 PM CST WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 7 PM CST WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING...STRONG WINDS WILL DEVELOP BEHIND A DRYLINE DURING THE
  LATE MORNING HOURS ACROSS SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND EARLY AFTERNOON
  ACROSS AREAS ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF INTERSTATE 44. WINDS WILL
  BEGIN TO SUBSIDE BY WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST TO WEST SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH
  GUSTS OF 45 MPH LIKELY.

* IMPACTS...STRONG WEST WIND GUSTS WILL CREATE DIFFICULTY ON
  NORTH TO SOUTH ORIENTED ROADWAYS SUCH AS INTERSTATE 49. LIGHT
  OUTDOOR OBJECTS MAY BE BLOWN AROUND.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS
THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
