Joplin Fire Department - No fire inspections, issuance of burn permits during COVID-19 emergency

(From the Joplin Fire Department)

The Joplin Fire Department is committed to the safety and health of the citizens and visitors of our great city.

We have implemented several proactive risk reduction measures that are intended to further protect our community by minimizing the exposure potential and spread of COVID-19.

These measures include a temporary suspension of public appearances by fire crews, public station tours, fire inspections, and issuing of burn permits.

We have also minimized public access to all Fire Stations. If you are in need of fire reports please call 417-623-0403 and these reports can be electronically delivered.

As we take these measures to protect our community, please help us protect our firefighters.

How?

In the event of a medical emergency...

- Inform 911 of any flu like symptoms you or your family may have had in the past 72 hours
- Wear a mask when our crews arrive
- Meet our crews at the front door

Our hope is that you never need our services, but in the unlikely event that you do... we are only a phone call away.
