An 89-year-old resident of Spring River Christian Village is the 15th Joplin COVID-19 fatality, according to a news release this evening from the Joplin Health Department.
All 15 deaths reported in the city have been from Spring River Christian Village.
In the news release, which provided no other information about the death, the city repeated the same statement that has been used in the earlier releases saying the department is working closely with management at the facility.
Statistics posted today on the city's COVID-19 dashboard show 25 new cases bringing the total to 293, with eight hospitalized, three less than the previous day.
One hundred seventy-seven people, 12 more than Monday are under quarantine.
