Globe: "Woman" running for office

You would think with a woman as editor, the Joplin Globe would have left sexism behind it a long time ago.

Apparently not.

When KZRG's Mark Kinsley announced his candidacy for 129th District state representative, the Globe headlined it "Talk show host begins campaign.'

After attorney Shelly Dreyer made her announcement today, the Globe headline reads, "Woman kicks off run for Missouri House."

Not lawyer, not former municipal judge, but woman. I find it hard to imagine that Mark Kinsley or any other male candidate would be described as "man" in such a headline.

News flash to the Joplin Globe- women run for office and get elected, just like men do.
They even become editors at daily newspapers.

Women get elected because people just don't care.

Read in the Glob (intentionally misspelled) this morning there is also a "black" man who is President.

She is definitely more than just a "woman." Call her up and talk to her - she's going to get elected because people DO care, anonymous.
