Billy Long votes against budget deal

The prospect of a federal government shutdown was averted late Friday night by an overwhelming majority of Congress...with no help from Seventh District Congressman.

Long was the only Missouri Congressman to vote against the deal, which was approved 348 to 70. Voting for the measure were Republicans Todd Akin, Blaine Luetkemeyer, Sam Graves, Vicky Hartzler, JoAnn Emerson and Democrats Russ Carnahan and Lacy Clay. Democrat Emanuel Cleaver did not vote.
