Akin votes for Ryan budget plan

Congressman Todd Akin, R-Mo. issued the following statement after the Ryan budget plan paassed in the House today:

“Today I voted for final passage of the FY ’12 Path to Prosperity budget resolution. As a member of the Budget Committee, I had the privilege of being part of the process of crafting this budget. Because of Chairman Paul Ryan’s leadership, we have produced a budget that helps spur job growth today, stops spending money the government doesn’t have, and lifts the crushing burden of debt. This plan puts the budget on the path to balance and the economy on the path to prosperity.

“Over the past decade, Washington’s out-of-control spending has put us on a trajectory to financial disaster. We are fully aware of the financial crisis ahead and it would be legislative malpractice to simply kick the can further down the road. The Path to Prosperity restores the future that I know we all want to provide for generations to come.”
