Koster, Evans slated to appear at Newton County barbecue Saturday

(From the Southwest Missouri Democrats)

The Newton County Democrats, in cooperation with the Southwest Missouri Democrats, would like to invite you to the annual Newton County Democratic Picnic on Saturday, July 14th at 5pm.  This year’s picnic, located at the Neosho High School Cafeteria, will feature guest speakers Attorney General Chris Koster and  7th Congressional Candidate Jim Evans.

The Newton County Democratic Picnic is a fundraiser for the local Democratic Party to raise funds for a headquarters for the 2012 election cycle. Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Chips and Beverages will be provided in an air conditioned building.  There is a suggested donation of $15, but any contribution is appreciated.  Chair of the Newton County Democrats Jim Hight said “The Newton County picnic is being held for Democrats to get together in a cool environment, to introduce our Democratic loyalists to our congressional candidate Jim Evans, and to have a good meal.  Of course, money always comes into the conversation, and we want to use this picnic as a way to raise enough money to get a headquarters building.  We had a tremendous amount of traffic at our headquarters in 2008, and I feel that people will come again for signs and to talk.”
