Article explores Andrew Blunt's lobbying techniques

Andrew Blunt says he does not lobby his brother, Missouri Governor Matt Blunt, but as this St. Louis Business Journal article suggests there are ways of getting around that.
The article also says some lobbyists are perturbed at how the inexperienced Blunt reached the top of the lobbying game because of his family connections.
The only question not raised by the article was "If you think Andrew Blunt is exploiting his family connections, how do you think Matt Blunt became governor?

Ding! This is the sound of nail being hit on the head and driven staight through.

I cannot stand the rampant nepotism that invading our politcal landscape all over the country. I know that solid public service often runs in families (as so many a profession). However, this is too important to leave to family connections.

Personally, I have decided never to vote for a candidate whose family has held office, be they Blunts, Bushes, Clintons or Carnahans. Until they can prove they are truly genuine, I say toss 'em all out in favor of new folks.

I would not be opposed to having family members in office if they were there by their merits. There in lies the question. It is our responsibility to may sure we know who we are voting for.
