Globe releases documents on Ward firing

The Joplin Globe continued its role of rock-solid journalism, publishing documents on its website pertaining to the firing of former Joplin police officer Charles Ward.
This may be the first time the Globe has really taken advantage of the internet to break a story. Of course, the story is getting a little moldy, but there is still plenty of interest among the public.

Perhaps they're taking these threats to their collective livelihood seriously. Nothing like the hint of competition to stir some action.

There is a story in today's (2/1/06) Springfield News-Leader about a lawsuit in reference to "Sunshine Laws" applying to Internal Affairs documents...interesting reading, especially when you look at it in connection with the JPD situation.
