Mount Vernon Republican Jack Goodman, who was in the House of Representatives last year, had his first day in the Senate yesterday. Goodman, of course, was elected to succeed the late Larry Gene Taylor.

Jack Goodman is one of the most honest guys I've ever had to work with. He is one of the good guys. I'm happy to have known him as a lawyer, and now as a senator. He's a lot better than some people already in Jeff City.
