Lobbyist and former state representative Jewell Patek, whose connections with Governor Matt Blunt are no secret, allegedly contacted a St. Louis-area fee office manager with an offer to have a management company take over the operation, according to an article in this week's Springfield Business Journal.
These third-party management companies are allegedly the target of an FBI investigation into the operation of the license fee offices since the Blunt administration took office in 2005.
