Today's Boston Globe features an analysis of newly-renamed GateHouse Media's purchase of more than 100 suburban newspapers in New England. It also offers a look at Fortress Investment, the financial group that owns GateHouse.
GateHouse, of course, owns The Carthage Press, Joplin Daily, Neosho Daily News, Neosho Post, and the Big Nickel in this area.
