After many calls and requests, Ben Reed made the decision to petition for a recount of the votes from the August 8 election for Barton County Presiding Commissioner. He told the Democrat on Monday, shortly after he filed the petition, "I already accepted the loss; I have lost elections before, and there are a lot more important things going on than this, but people want to feel confidence in the voting process and the voting count."

I am glad that Ben is following through with this, even if he still loses it will prove to us how well our voting system works.
Unfortunately part of the problem they are going to find is voters not able to follow instructions in how to mark the ballot and therefore the machine will not count them. So I hope that Judge Bickle will allow a recount by hand.
