(From the City of Joplin)
Citizens are invited to a Public Open House to view and comment on proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan and changes to the Zoning Code. The Open House is set for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, in the 5th Floor Council Chambers at Joplin City Hall located at 602 South Main Street.
The proposed changes on the plan reflect the recommendations from the Citizens Advisory Recovery Team (CART). These include potential land use changes and corridor development overlay districts for 20th Street between Reinmiller Road and Schifferdecker Road; 26th Street between Maiden Lane and Main Street; Connecticut Avenue between 20th Street and 32nd Street; and Main Street between 15th Street and 50th Street.
The Open House format is similar to initial CART meeting, as it provides an informal setting for general discussions about the displayed material as well as the process utilized by CART to involve all citizens in the development of the recommendations presented.
City staff and members of the CART team will be available to answer questions and respond to citizens’ comments during the Open House.
