Kanakuk connection: Guilty plea set for Florida man accused of molesting boys

The second trusted adult figure connected to Kanakuk in Branson to be charged with sex crimes involving underage boys is scheduled to plead guilty July 27 in Orange County, Florida, according to online court records.

Edward Ringheim, 40, Windermere, Fla., a former Universal Orlando employee, is charged with seven counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.

The first trusted adult figure, former camp director Pete Newman, pleaded guilty to multiple charges of sexual abuse of underage boys and is serving two life sentences, plus 30 years, in prison

Ringheim allegedly treated young men to free trips to Universal Studios by using his employee pass, one of the victims told authorities

Parents also let Ringheim accompany their children to Kanakuk's Branson, Missouri, facility according to published reports. Investigators say he brought about 30 kids to Kanakuk for summer camp over a four year period.

Anyone heard if Ed Ringheim has been sentenced? How about any update on the civil suit with Kanakuk and Pete Newman verses the family in Tx. I am still so surprised there were not many more civil suits with regards to Pete Newman when you consider the number of boys and families that were involved. Seems everything is all hush hush now and I am sure Kamp is glad for this.
