When you're going to spend half a million for political ads, you would think you would spend the money wisely- especially if it's your own money.
Republican candidate for governor Dave Spence, fell just a few dollars short of the half million mark, $499,973, in television advertising, and not so coincidentally Spence loaned his campaign $500,000, according to his disclosure report filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Spence reported $1,000,319 in contributions, including the half million dollar loan and spent $1,573,413.97 during the past three months.
So far, Spence has loaned his campaign more than $750,000, according to the report.
Spence has also been spending considerable money on internet advertising (and he hasn't been getting his money's worth there either).

Apparently newspaper ads aren't a high priority with this candidate, but he'll always expect some "good press" from them, of course. Rick Nichols.
