AREAS PRIMARILY ALONG AND NORTH OF THE HIGHWAY 60 CORRIDOR WILL EXPERIENCE MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL THIS MORNING... WITH THE HEAVIEST ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MISSOURI. MORE ROUNDS OF RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. * TORRENTIAL RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS...WHICH WILL QUICKLY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING OF STREAMS...LOW LYING OR POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS. LOCATIONS THAT NORMALLY DO NOT FLOOD WILL BE AT RISK FOR FLOODING. AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED EXCESSIVE RAINFALL AND FLOODING THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS ARE AT PARTICULAR RISK FOR EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FLASH FLOODING. THOSE CAMPING OR FLOATING ON AREA RIVERS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RISING WATER LEVELS. THOSE TRAVELING OVERNIGHT AND DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE SHOULD BE ALERT FOR FLOODED ROADS. ADDITIONAL RISES AND FLOODING MAY DEVELOP ON MAIN STEM RIVERS. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING.
