Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney drops charges against Joplin doctor accused of statutory rape

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office dropped statutory rape charges against a Joplin doctor who had been scheduled to go to trial October 21, in Jasper County Circuit Court.

In its October 29 edition, the Joplin Globe reported Prosecuting Attorney Theresa Kenney said charges were dropped against Jeremy Goins, 36, because the case could not be made.

Goins had been charged with statutory rape after allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old girl multiple times between February 1, 2016 and February 28, 2017.
