Webb City Schools closed through April 3, school-based Mercy clinic also closed

(From the Webb City R-7 School District)

Cardinal Community:

The Webb City Administrative team, along with the Jasper County Health Department and government officials have closely monitored the latest developments regarding COVID-19.

We understand that many of our families, students, and staff members have been feeling anxious and stressed due to the uncertainty of this situation. Though we are unaware of any confirmed cases in our district, it is important for the district to maintain open communication with you regarding our ongoing measures to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and community.

In these times of uncertainty, our children look to the adults in their lives to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Therefore, we believe it is vital that we do our part in trying to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 throughout the district.

Thus, we are making a proactive decision to close Webb City R-7 School District from March 17 through April 3, 2020.

According to MSHSAA guidelines, all activities will be suspended during this time.

Additionally, our school-based Mercy clinic will also be closed as they will be dispersing personnel to different locations. As this is an unprecedented situation and continues to evolve, additional modifications may need to be made.

As these decisions are made, we will do our very best to communicate those with you as soon as possible.

Our community will play an important role during this time in protecting each other from the spread of COVID-19. We encourage you to continue to follow the guidance of the Jasper County Health Department and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
