Joplin City Council to hear proposal to pay $55,000 to consulting firm to deal with federal funding for COVID-19 response

The Joplin City Council is expected to approve a proposal to hire a consulting firm to oversee the use of funding received from the federal CARES Act when it meets 6 p.m. Monday.

The proposed contract calls for Joplin to pay Guidehouse LLP, up to $55,000 to help the city respond to COVID-19 and receive as much federal funding as possible.







Duties the nationally-known firm will perform, according to the contract, include identifying potential funding sources, developing a list of projects and making sure the city follows federal guidelines.
