Springfield hair stylist worked eight days with COVID-19, exposures also reported at Dairy Queen, Walmart, CVS

(From the Springfield-Greene County Health Department)

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is notifying the public of potential exposures from COVID-19 positive individuals.

While symptomatic, our case worked as a hair stylist at the Great Clips at 1864 S. Glenstone Ave. on the following dates:

Tuesday, May 12 (8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Wednesday, May 13 (8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
Thursday, May 14 (12 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
Friday, May 15 (1 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
Saturday, May 16 (8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
Sunday, May 17 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Tuesday, May 19 (12 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
Wednesday, May 20 (12 p.m. - 6 p.m.)

The individual and their clients were wearing face coverings. The 84 clients potentially directly exposed will be notified by the Health Department and be offered testing, as will seven coworkers.

It is the hope of the department that because face coverings were worn throughout this exposure timeline, no additional cases will result.

Anyone deemed not to be a close contact during this timeframe but were in this location during those dates and times is believed to be at very low risk.

These individuals are advised to watch for symptoms, but there is no need to self-quarantine or isolate unless symptoms develop.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
cough,
fever,
shortness of breath,
chills,
muscle pain,
sore throat
and new loss of taste or smell.

If symptoms do develop, seek medical attention.

If you are sick, you can use virtual care options to seek medical treatment without exposing others to illness. Links are available at health.springfieldmo.gov/coronavirus

Additionally, this individual and another unrelated case also visited the following locations while infectious:
Thursday, May 14; Friday, May 15 and Monday, May 18: 10 Fitness at 1444 S Glenstone between 12 p.m. - 1p.m.
Monday, May 18: Dairy Queen at 3665 E. Sunshine around 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 20: Walmart at 2021 E. Independence around 7:30 p.m.

Also, another unrelated case visited the following location while infectious, but while wearing a mask:
Wednesday, May 20: CVS at Campbell and Battlefield between 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. for about 20 minutes.

COVID-19 is spread through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It spreads between people who are in close contact with one another.

Anyone who was at these locations on these dates is at low risk for contracting COVID-19, but should monitor for symptoms. There is no need to self-quarantine or isolate unless symptoms develop.

If symptoms do develop, seek medical attention.

Hope everyone followed the rules.

There weren't any people not wearing their masks?

Mission accomplished?

Would the Mango Maroon approve?

How many times has the Mango Maroon told people to follow the CDC guidelines and wear a mask?

Oh, that's right, he doesn't believe in masks, just look at him and vote for him!

How many times has the Mango Maroon told citizens to stay home when they are sick?

You know, to protect their fellow citizens from a serious and contagious virus?

Oh, that's right, he doesn't believe in the virus, for reasons.

Meantime, this type of thing happens.
