The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is updating the public on the potential exposure time of a COVID-19 positive individual mentioned in this morning’s news briefing.

Prior to being diagnosed, one of our recent positive cases visited the Walmart at 1923 E Kearney St. on Monday, May 11 between 11 am and 3 pm for about one hour.
Our same case visited the Dollar General at 3550 N State Hwy. H on Thursday, May 14 around 12:30 p.m. The individual was symptomatic while visiting both locations.
As we take steps to reopen our community, it is even more important for all of us to interact with our environment carefully. If we do get sick, we should stay home.
COVID-19 is spread through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It spreads between people who are in close contact with one another.
Anyone who was at this location on this date is at low risk for contracting COVID-19, but should monitor for symptoms. There is no need to self-quarantine or isolate unless symptoms develop.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
cough,
fever,
shortness of breath,
chills,
muscle pain,
sore throat
and new loss of taste or smell.
If symptoms do develop, seek medical attention.
