Four COVID-19 deaths, 179 new cases reported in Missouri

The number of Missourians who have contracted COVID-19 shot past 12,000 today with 179 new confirmed cases raising the total to 12,167, according to statistics released this afternoon by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

Four deaths were reported over the past 24 hours, increasing the toll to 685.







St. Louis County has had 386 deaths, followed by St. Louis with 107, St. Charles County 54, Kansas City 25, Jefferson and Franklin counties 16 apiece and Jackson County 15.

The only change in the local coronavirus count was in the city of Joplin with the 12th case, which was announced Sunday afternoon.

Jasper County has had 20 cases, McDonald County 17, Newton County 16, Joplin 12 and Barton County none.
