Joplin Health Department reports three COVID-19 deaths

The Joplin Health Department reported three deaths due to COVID-19 today.

The victims were three women, ages 69, 70 and 78.

The deaths bring the city's total to 127.

The department confirmed nine coronavirus cases, according to statistics posted on the city's website Wednesday night. putting the total to date at 5,889.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Joplin hospitals increased slightly to 15, but the number of city residents hospitalized dropped from three to two.
