Sen. Roy Blunt, R-MO, announced today he will not be seeking re-election in 2022. Blunt, 71, is serving his second six-year term.
Blunt's decision comes on the heels of decisions by other veteran Republican senators Rob Portman of Ohio, Patrick Toomey of Pennsylvania and Richard Shelby of Alabama not to run for another term.
Last week, former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens indicated he was considering a challenge to Blunt in 2022.
