Arkansas Republican: With Billy Long gone, Republicans searching for new class clown

Apparently, some people recognized former Seventh District Congressman Billy Long's value to the Republican Party and to Congress.

In an article posted on Politico concerning incoming Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tennessee becoming the new source of humor for the Republicans, Rep. Steve Womack, R-Arkansas, praised his predecessor in that category, Billy Long.

“With Billy Long leaving Congress, the conference is in search of a new class clown,” said Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark.). “And I nominate Tim Burchett … he’s so unpredictable. He says the craziest things.”

Billy Long has done missed his big chance.

There's a couple of short buses worth of goat ropers on the republican side of the aisle today, and he could have been the hmfic of the goat roper caucus.

He could have been drinking whatever and acting all fed-up at his podium if he had just not deceived himself that he was senatorial.

There never was a chance of that, not even in Missouri!
