Glenn Coltharp, who spend the first half of the 2022-2023 school year working for the Joplin R-8 School District as interim principal at Royal Heights Elementary is back in the saddle again.
In a letter to parents Thursday, Coltharp, whose decades-long educational experience includes service as Crowder College president and dean of education at Missouri Southern State University, introduced himself, said he will be with the district for the remainder of the school year. "I will be here as we move ahead and continue meeting the educational needs of the students."
Whitehead, whose name has already been removed from the district letterhead, reportedly was removed from his position, district sources told the Turner Report, for what can tactfully be called personnel issues.
The district website has not listed an opening for middle school principal but advertised the opening for head football coach on Tuesday.
